Hi there. My name is Holly. It's nice to meet you virtually in this space and if you've stumbled onto my page, welcome!
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#7133) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and I obtained a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology in 2011. Since that time I have taken years of post-graduate coursework and additional trainings. I am a Certified Therapist with the EMDR International Association and typically my work has focused on trauma and complex early life experiences. I have over two decades of experience working in the social service world focusing on mental health care and I have been in private practice since 2015. As soon as I have space in my busy life, I have plans to start a PhD in Consciousness Studies.
I am also a closet writer. I have written a book that will be published in 2023 - watch this space for announcements. One of my career goals is to distribute my writings more fully; currently you can read my articles published through Elephant Journal. I love words; spoken words and written words fire up my heart. Sometimes I feeI I am a translator of the soul. Human language includes not just what we speak but also what we say without words. I am able to read between the sentences, see what is not said, watch the story of the body, and I always colour outside the lines.
My loved ones describe me as driven, loving, positive, kind, insatiably curious, patient, and supportive. I am a helper soul and I believe in kindness. Being tender hearted in a fierce world is a strength.
The metaphysical world is where I spend much of my free time and is a subject area I have been studying and practicing since I was a teenager. Animals have always held a special place in my heart and I immensely enjoy having various creatures living in and around my house. I have a miniature dachshund named Juno and she comes to work with me, sleeping through all of my sessions. Travel is perhaps one of my most favourite past-times and when I have free time or spare money I am usually venturing off to some foreign land, learning experientially about the world, as I fulfill my nomadic, gypsy tendencies. My global wanderings have provided an education that cannot be found in any classroom. The arts, painting, piano, singing, photography, and nearly all forms of creative endeavours make me feel most alive. You may have seen my paintings displayed at various businesses in the community or at silent auctions for animal charities. I am consumed by the constant need to create; I take what I see in my mind and I birth it into 3D form. Hollytree Wellness Centre is one such creation; it is a 3D painting birthed into form through imagination and vision (www.hollytreewellness.com).
I would love to know what gives your life meaning and purpose! Life is meant to be lived and also fun. I can help you expand and cultivate these gifts, allowing you to share your unique medicine with the world.
